A multinode quantum network

Researchers at QuTech have built and demonstrated the first entanglement-based network connecting multiple quantum processors. This quantum network is composed of three independent nodes (Alice, Bob, and Charlie) that are based on nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond. The results serve as a proof-of-principle of two key quantum network protocols: multipartite entanglement distribution across all nodes and any-to-any connectivity via entanglement swapping: Alice and Charlie are connected via quantum entanglement even without a direct physical link.
